The DEBATE
The second presidential debate began at 9:00 PM on Monday, October 7th, and millions watched the first town hall style debate, in which citizens asked a series of questions to Obama and McCain. While McCain trails roughly 10% points behind Obama, the Ohio race is still fairly close, and it is possible that this debate could decide this state of 12 million.

I watched some of the debate actually. Both of them did ok. It just really bothers me when students come back to school and tell that the candidate they don't favor never answered questions and such. Well just to tell you both of them didn't answer questions that were given to them at some point. Also that students only "root" so to speak for a Democrat or Republican because of public socialization. For me actually most of my family is democrat but I stand outside the box.
There was a lot of controversy over two of McCain's statements. One was McCain calling Obama "that one." There is a lot of speculation as to what McCain meant by this; was he referring to age, rage, etc? I think it was just a poor choice of rhetoric on McCain's part and nothing else. The other controversy was when McCain responded to a black voter's question by saying that "you probably hadn't head of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac before this." Again, I don't think McCain was referring to the man's race; he meant voters in general.
The debate was interesting and I think both candidates did well. I thought the town hall style was weird, espescially when McCain would walk right up to the audience to answer their questions. He wandered around the set a lot when Obama was talking and he kept using the phrase "my friends" when referring to the voters, which was pretty funny.
